Gorseinon pipped in 10-try thriller (by the South Wales Evening Post )

Gorseinon and Felinfoel played out a 10-try thriller in division one west, with visitors Foel narrowly triumphing 31-29 at the Welfare Ground.

Both sides crossed for five tries in an enthralling encounter in the sunshine, with the visitors' touchdowns coming through Elliot Dawe (2), Dean Watts, Laurence Houlcond and Elliot Rees, while Aled Roberts added three all-important conversions.

Gors bagged both a losing and a try bonus point thanks to scores from Dai Rees, Josh John, Alun Evans, Anthony Pompa and Ryan Jones, with Andrew Steel adding the extras to two of the touchdowns.

The result sees Felinfoel move up the table to second, three points behind leaders Tenby United, who did just enough to see off hosts Llangennech 29-27.

In another high-octane game, Llan will consider themselves unlucky not to have come away with the maximum points, though they did pick up two bonus points.

Rhys Davies, Gethin Long, Steve Hewitt and Chris Strickland all touched down for the hosts, with Chris Small adding two conversions and a penalty from the tee, but it wasn't enough to see off the undefeated pacemakers.

Tenby's Jonathan Rogers proved to be the difference between the sides, the scrum-half bagging 14 of his team's points, including a try, while Toby Smith, Dan Colley and Luke Dedman also went over.

Loughor moved up to fifth after they racked up their third success with a 32-20 win at strugglers Carmarthen Athletic.

The Blues were awarded two penalty tries, with Morgan Bryant and Andrew Banfield also touching down. Peter Smiriglia notched up 12 points with the boot.

Athletic did bag two tries of their own when Rob Phillips and Steff Jones went over for the hosts.

Crymych were no match for Kidwelly as the Black and Ambers cruised to a 34-8 away win.

The visitors outscored their hosts four tries to one, with touchdowns from Steffan Marshall, Adam Davies, Berian Watkins and Luke Marshall.

Elsewhere, Newcastle Emlyn hit visitors Ammanford for six as the hosts recorded a 38-20 victory. Llyr Davies, Dan Davies, Shaun Leonard, Mike Jones, Brynmor Jones and Alex Williams all crossed for Emlyn.

On Friday night, Amman United let a 15-3 lead slip as they went down 20-15 at Whitland. Flanker Kyle Weatheral and No. 8 Jack Mason crashed over for the Borderers, with Jonathan Thomas bagging 10 points with the boot, including a drop-goal.

United had to settle for a losing bonus point. Their tries came through Johnny Bevans and Stuart Herbert, while Joel Foster converted one and landed a penalty.
