Gorseinon get off the mark in style (by the South Wales Evening Post )

Gorseinon were celebrating their first win in division one west as they hit winless Carmarthen Athletic for six in a 38-0 victory.

Dai Rees was the star of the show with a try treble, while Luke Cross, Ben Cross and Kyran Craig also went over. Andrew Steel added four conversions.

Meanwhile, Ammanford dug deep to record their second win in the division as they edged past Whitland 29-25.

James Owen crossed for two tries for Ammanford, while Gary Stephens and Rhydian Morris also went over as they outscored the hosts by four tries to three. Morris kicked seven points for a personal points haul of 12 points.

The Borderers had to be content with a losing bonus point, despite testing the visiting defence to the limit. Owain John, James Criddle and Jack Mason all went over for the hosts, while Jonathan Thomas added 10 points with the boot.

Felinfoel racked up a half century in a 53-0 drubbing of Crymych.

Foel crossed eight times through Chris Jones, Aled Roberts, Stuart Taylor, Kyle Simmonite, Andrew Evans, Stuart Edwards, Craig Edwards and Curtis Morris.

Loughor's unbeaten start to the season came to an abrupt halt as they succumbed 32-15 at Tenby United.

Tenby crossed four times through Jason Ronowitz (2), Luke Hanford and Andrew Cooke. The visitors went over for two tries of their own through Michael White and Dan George.

Llangennech won 27-22 win at Amman United. Chris Moore notched up 17 of Llan's points through a try, three conversions and two penalties, while Gareth Davies and Rhys Davies also crossed for the visitors.

Amman's three touchdowns came courtesy of Dean Williams, Liam Smith and Craig Radcliffe.

In division one west's other fixture, Kidwelly were 37-20 home winners over Newcastle Emlyn.

The Black and Ambers' five tries went to Luke Marshall (2), Carwyn Thomas, Richard Rees and Dafydd Latham.
